COVID Update: August 13, 2020

During this time the health and safety of our patients as well as the wellbeing of our employees remains our top priority at Well Life. For this reason, you will notice additional safety precautions when you call to schedule an appointment or come into one of our offices.

We continue to offer both telemedicine visits and in person visits for our patients depending on your reason for being seen we may require a certain visit type. If possible, we prefer you schedule a telehealth appointment.

If you choose to be seen in office, our scheduling staff complete a brief health screening with you before scheduling a visit. You will be askedHave you had any known exposure in the last two weeks with someone who has tested positive for COVID?

In the past 72 hours have you had any of the following symptoms:

  • cough,
  • fever,
  • cold or flu symptoms (including chills or muscle aches),
  • sore throat,
  • difficulty breathing or shortness of breath, loss of taste or smell?

If you have had any of these symptoms our staff will schedule you for a telemedicine appointment.

In accordance with current state mandates and for the protection of patients and staff you will be required to wear a mask to enter our facility

All of our staff and providers will be wearing protective face coverings as well. Upon entering the clinic the front desk will take your temperature and once again complete a screening for any current or recent symptoms. If you have a temperature or have had any symptoms you will be asked to return to your car and wait while our staff consult with your provider and will likely be offered a telemedicine visit from your car.

In the event that a provider feels you should be tested for COVID one of our medical assistants may come out to your car to complete a test swab. Staff will be in additional personal protective equipment to do this. We have extremely limited ability to do this at this time and may refer you elsewhere for testing if appropriate.

Staff may also opt to wear additional personal protective equipment in the office at any time by personal choice for additional precaution.

We are limiting the number of patients in our waiting room at any given time to keep maximum social distancing in place for patients. For this reason, you may be asked to wait outside or you may be roomed immediately upon entering the clinic even if your provider is not yet available or ready to see you.

In addition to these noticeable safety precautions we are also taking additional precautions to ensure your safety and to reduce the risk of exposure within our clinic. All staff have their temperatures taken before beginning work and if they have a temperature of 99.5 or more they are immediately sent home. If staff have any symptoms, they do not come into the office. All patient rooms and contact surfaces are disinfected between each patient and staff surfaces are disinfected several times throughout the day.

Some of our staff members continue to work from home right now in order to reduce the number of persons in the clinic at any point and maintain social distancing measures. Please be patient with us at this time as we do our best to care for you in the safest manner possible.

We encourage patients to please continue to schedule for urgent and for routine care needs. All of your health issues continue to be a priority for us, as they always are. We are happy to see you in the clinic or through a telemedicine visit.
